This recipe was delicious, light as promised, and dead simple to make. I love having soup for its filling yet light quality, especially when it's just packed with flavor. I topped this bowl with paprika, mainly for color, but it did add a nice depth of flavor to the bowl.

I love these cookies. I remember coming home from school and my mom pulling these out of the oven. I'd always sneak one before they were completely cool, but they were so delicious I couldn't wait!

Well, I didn't time this recipe very well. It's still in progress, so I'll update the post with pictures and timing as I can. If you have a bread machine, you'll have an easy time with this recipe, as it's designed for it! If you don't have one, like me, it will take a bit more time to make, but you'll not be disappointed with the result! I've chosen to have a double rise time, but it's not really necessary. You can skip the first and head right to the second if you are pressed for time.

I love this recipe in the winter. Every time I make it, it goes a bit quicker, and this is no longer a 'labor all afternoon' recipe, so I'm inclined to make it more often. (I used to peel the potatoes while watching tv, a movie, whatever...not the fastest method!) In any case, when there's a blizzard outside, I don't immediately think of having meatloaf, casseroles, etc. I think of soups, and this is one of my favorites.

This cake is light, flavorful, and completely satisfying as a dessert, or in place of coffee cake with your morning coffee. The recipe is my great aunt Hazel Imsland's recipe. I remember making this with my mom when I was a little girl, but I really hadn't made it since, until I needed to bring a snack for our Sunday school. It was a hit, and as good as I remember it.

I went to my first yoga class the morning I was to meet my parents to shop for my wedding dress. The class was at 6 am, and I was to meet them in a town an hour away at 9. I wasn't sure what to expect out of our marathon shopping day ahead, but I knew I was going to need energy, and I wanted a quick tone up as well.

I love old recipes. There's something charming about preparing a meal that someone prepared 70+ years before. This recipe is from my 30's cookbook, and it's a HUGE recipe for whole wheat pancakes. I've portioned it out for a small, medium, and large batch for your ease.

My apologies, dear readers, for missing my post yesterday. For the miss, you're getting two posts this week! The first is this lovely lunch recipe, Couscous with Broccoli and Walnuts. It's a variation on the original recipe, which called for cauliflower and almonds, and really, you can add any veggies you like to this, and it's still delicious.
